Date night!

Jon has been telling me for a few days now that he wants to create his own season salt or rub. So last night I set out a bunch of our spices and small dishes, sat across the bar and told him to go at. I wrote down everything he added into four different dishes. Then he took his favorite two and we made them on a bigger scale. I have to say they are really good!!
He even did a lot of his own grinding with a rolling pin. So now two greats have been born.
Jon's Mix, or as he likes to call it "Earthy Pleasure". And my favorite "Sweet Slap". Yeah that's really what he named it, if you ever try it you would know why.
This was such a fun and cheap date night!!

Sweet sweet man!

On Tuesday Jon and I were cleaning up the house together. He slipped outside to take care of a few things while I was in the bedroom folding laundry. The doorbell rang so I got up and went to answer the door. And there was Jon, standing there holding a vase full of sunflowers that have been growing wild in our yard. It's the sweet things he does that sets him apart. Love him.

Done Well.... And Done Terribly Wrong

**The opinions in the following post are solely personal and Do Not reflect Blogger in anyway. If you are a "victim" of any of the following, please take no offense. But instead, quickly change. :)**

You know when you have a recipe you LOVE!! And you accidentally forget to put one little thing in? Then your amazingness (yes amazingness) is terribly all wrong. So much so that it disappoints you. And it was only that small little change that ruined your dish! I have a few general things, that make me think of this when they are done wrong. And when I see someone with one of these things I just can't stop staring. Hey I'm only human! When I see something that has been tweaked just enough that its all wrong... I'll admit it, my eyes wander like a pubescent boy and I Can't. Stop. Starring.
It might make me a terrible person, but these are a few of them...
Colorful Eyeshadow..
Now I'll be the first to open up my make up bag and show EVERYONE that I have just about every color known to man. But that doesn't mean I used a paint roller to put it on people. There IS a difference between clown make-up and classically done.
BAD CLOWN PEOPLE

AWWwwww... Better.

Side Ponytails.. One "slip-to-far-up-the-head" and you have ruined it. What were you thinking?
Eighties UN-happiness

Elegant, Classic... Perfect.

Another hair Uh-Oh... Hair ratting or teasing. You have just a nice small tease. Then some people just don't get that less is more and we end up with a nest for a small family of Blue Jays perched on the head. Why? Sometimes the front is only combed down so the back is left in crazy land. Because If you can only see the front that mean everyone can. Right? WRONG. My personal favorite, which happens around here all the time!! The box. That is the only way to put it. There is literally a square on the back of a girls head.
Move in the birds..

Isn't she cute?..

Last and best of all in my opinion..... Drum roll!! Fake tanning! We all do it, or have done it. Don't deny it. But there is a fine line from nice glow to "Orange Carrot Sunshine" walking down the street. And don't try and tell me you don't Fake Bake, or use a lotion. We can all tell. Just own up to it and in most cases everyone will say "Oh I like this brand!" or "I like to go here, where do you go?"
Any body would stare at these!

I don't think I need to put a good shot. We all know what a nice tan looks like. That's just a few things that can be tweaked a tiny bit, and have massive TERRIBLE outcomes!

Moving On... And feeling very blessed

I have written a couple posts about the trials Jon and I have been through these past 6 months. It is now August 19th, 2011 at 12 AM. The 18th has come and gone. And I'm happy. I'm content. I'm blessed. Losing our baby has been a trial I wish we hadn't had to go through. But I'm glad we did. You may not understand me saying that. Of course we wish she had lived, but we have been made stronger. Jon and I have always been a "Super couple". The fact of the matter is, we just work well together. But no one tells you, or prepares you on how to work with the person you love most when you lose a baby together. On top of that, a baby that to most isn't even "real" yet. We didn't understand our emotions let alone how other peoples emotions would effect us in the early months.
The hard dates have come on and gone. Mother's day, Father's day, and our such anticipated Due Date. The last of them scared me. I worried about how I would feel. How I would feel towards three other friends who are also due, or have their angel here in their arms, if I would resent them for what they have and I lost.
My day was perfect. My day was filled with Love, Joy and Hope. I went with a dear friend of mine as she starts her journey to be a Mother, and all I felt was Hope. Hope for her, that everything works out for her. I went to visit another dear friend who brought her angel into the world two weeks ago, and all I felt was Joy. I was so Joyful she had this beautiful little girl in her life. And she was willing to let me in to see her. I came home to an amazing man. And felt more Love than any one person could possibly give out. But he did. And he has been there to hold my hand while bad news was given. To make laugh in times of complete sorrow. And to hold me close when the pain was to hard to laugh through.
Some may find it odd that two of the three highlights of my "Due Date" were spending it with a newly expecting Mother, and a beautiful baby and her Mother. But they were. If you would have told me 6 months ago this is what I would have done today. I would have thought you were crazy. I have gone full circle with my emotions, and this is the most peaceful place I have been in a long time.
I am so grateful for the plan I know is out there for Me and MY family. I will see my little one, and I will love her. She will have years and years of stored love for her. I know there may still be hard times. But today has shown me how far I have come. I'm grateful for that.
So now I'm happy. I'm content. And I'm BLESSED beyond measure.

A Surprise for Jon!

A few weeks ago I sent an amazing gift in the mail to Jon. I found it on a sample website, it was FREE! I thought he would really enjoy it. I mean who doesn't like getting packages in the mail?! I got a phone call from him letting me know he got it! I can just see it all now. He walked to the mailbox, just like any other day. Opened the mailbox, and found a white package just for him!

While standing the middle of the street, totally stoked about his package, he ripped it open!

Slowly... Scratch that.. Totally stoked he ripped open the white box hardly able to contain himself!

Took a look at the contents, then realized...

IT WAS HIS VERY OWN DEPENDS! And quickly, quite ungratefully, shoved his very own depends back in the box.

Then rushed in to call me for the first time today. To say.. "YOU SENT ME DEPENDS!" right after I said "Hello!". I love this man and I love how we can make each other laugh! Here's to the Golden Years Jon! I can seriously wait to see you in a pair of these! By the by, Jon has informed me we are saving these. His way of getting me back for this, is insisting on wearing them on the next road trip! Can we say stud? Seriously!

Don't call him Jon-Oh

I got into this little habit of calling my sweet sweet husband Jon-Oh, Clever right? To me it sounded like BONO. Then I heard my Mom call him Jon-Oh as well. We compared notes... She called him Jon-Oh "Because it's his name shortened.. You know J-O-N-O-T-H-A-N" That's great Mom, except his name is spelled J-O-N-A-T-H-A-N!
So close though really. I thought for sure the "How do you spell his name would have stopped with the serving ware incident.
You see, We had our names and date of our marriage engraved on out serving ware to cute the cake. I was so excited to see them I pulled them out and freaked! His name was spelled J-O-N-A-T-H-O-N. My Mom kept saying, "I can't believe they spelled it wrong." I believed her until I looked up at Jon and and saw him smiling at my Mom.. Then turned to her and she could barely contain he girlish smile. ....She spelled his name wrong, so according to them, they spelled it just right. Now it's a good laugh to have his name spelled wrong. And It only makes how she came to the Jon-Oh, that much more funny.
Okay back to first story, after a few months of me calling Dear Jon Jon-oh. He finally turned to me and said. "Where did this come from, I don't really like it." Well that solves the Jon-oh problem, doesn't like it. No problem. His name is Jon-Stop.
