A Surprise for Jon!

A few weeks ago I sent an amazing gift in the mail to Jon. I found it on a sample website, it was FREE! I thought he would really enjoy it. I mean who doesn't like getting packages in the mail?! I got a phone call from him letting me know he got it! I can just see it all now. He walked to the mailbox, just like any other day. Opened the mailbox, and found a white package just for him!

While standing the middle of the street, totally stoked about his package, he ripped it open!

Slowly... Scratch that.. Totally stoked he ripped open the white box hardly able to contain himself!

Took a look at the contents, then realized...

IT WAS HIS VERY OWN DEPENDS! And quickly, quite ungratefully, shoved his very own depends back in the box.

Then rushed in to call me for the first time today. To say.. "YOU SENT ME DEPENDS!" right after I said "Hello!". I love this man and I love how we can make each other laugh! Here's to the Golden Years Jon! I can seriously wait to see you in a pair of these! By the by, Jon has informed me we are saving these. His way of getting me back for this, is insisting on wearing them on the next road trip! Can we say stud? Seriously!

Don't call him Jon-Oh

I got into this little habit of calling my sweet sweet husband Jon-Oh, Clever right? To me it sounded like BONO. Then I heard my Mom call him Jon-Oh as well. We compared notes... She called him Jon-Oh "Because it's his name shortened.. You know J-O-N-O-T-H-A-N" That's great Mom, except his name is spelled J-O-N-A-T-H-A-N!
So close though really. I thought for sure the "How do you spell his name would have stopped with the serving ware incident.
You see, We had our names and date of our marriage engraved on out serving ware to cute the cake. I was so excited to see them I pulled them out and freaked! His name was spelled J-O-N-A-T-H-O-N. My Mom kept saying, "I can't believe they spelled it wrong." I believed her until I looked up at Jon and and saw him smiling at my Mom.. Then turned to her and she could barely contain he girlish smile. ....She spelled his name wrong, so according to them, they spelled it just right. Now it's a good laugh to have his name spelled wrong. And It only makes how she came to the Jon-Oh, that much more funny.
Okay back to first story, after a few months of me calling Dear Jon Jon-oh. He finally turned to me and said. "Where did this come from, I don't really like it." Well that solves the Jon-oh problem, doesn't like it. No problem. His name is Jon-Stop.

ONE WISH

My mom and three other ladies have started a non-profit organization called ONE WISH. This organization will help people 18 years and older who unfortunatley, have a terminal illness. They would like to grant one last wish to those who need it most. If anyone would be willing to help in any way they would really appritiate it. A little help can go a very long way. It doesn't have to be monotary. If you think you could help a wish come true, and donate your time that would be fantastic. We all know someone who shouldn't have gone so soon. What a difference to them and thier family if they had been able to do something they wanted most.
I am so proud of my Mom and her friends. I love this. These fours ladies are always trying to find ways to help others. What better way then to start your own organization. Please help us by getting the word out there. This is still new, but could end up helping so many people! I will let everyone know more when it comes. I am hoping to be able to post when they need things donated so people may help if they like.

August is coming WAY to fast...

...And I don't know if I'm ready for it.

This post isn't really for anyone but me. I have been pushing this to the back of my mind all month. August 18, 2011 would have been our due date. Little did I know it would become a date I wanted to come and pass quickly for reasons other that expecting a little one. We are okay, I am okay. And we have had an amazing summer. Sure sometimes we get sad, but I think we have delt with it really well. I have watched other ladies who have miscarried shut themselves off. And pull away from friends who are expecting because "it's just too hard". I, on the other hand am so excited to see friends have there little ones! I can't wait to see them. Yes there are times I just watch them, and have sad feelings. But that doesn't changed how excited I am for them.
I guess I just thought I was okay, great even. Then I realized how close August was. All new feelings come back. I know I'm still okay. But I maybe didn't expect this next month to make me feel this way. It's just a month after all. It will come and go. It's just getting past it.
Something that EVERYONE asks us (which doesn't bother us) is "so are you guys planning on one soon then?" The answer is no. We would like a little family in the future. But I think maybe since it wasn't a "normal" miscarraige it kind of shook Me (us) up. Maybe shook isn't even the right word. We are just happy right now. And thats all that matters.

Anniversary Meets Low Key= AWESOME!

Jon and I were trying to figure out how to fit something "fun" in our busy schedules for our anniversary this year. Then after worrying about it we realized we were making it more stressful then it had to be. We decided to just spend it together and get our crap done. For lack of better words. So I got up, went to my extra long.. half day of work. Then went to run a couple "quick" errands.
First I went to get a state inspection done on my car. Super fun! My 30 min, 17 dollar trip quickly turned into a 3 hour, 330 dollar trip after he came out to tell me my front breaks and tires were gone. Beautiful.
Three hours later I ran my rings in for some repairs, then grabbed some grub at Costa Vida for Jon and I. (Yeah we really splurged huh... we did on the car)
When I got home we sat down ate our late lunch and talked. Then got all gussied up in our grubbiest clothes and went out to work on the fence. Yep. After a couple posts and a few hours, we called it quits and I went in to make a now late dinner. While I made dinner Jon ran and got us "Anniversary Slurpees". (another Splurge alert) Then we ate dinner, had slurpees, and talked to our hearts content.
Not really what we thought we would be doing for our Anniversary, or how we thought we thought we would spend our Anniversary money. But I'll be honest, with how much running around we both have been doing I really enjoyed how low key it was. Aside from both of us being a little ornery while working on the fence. (we always get ornery while working on the fence, there's just something about it)
I loved just hanging out with him. Not going somewhere pretending to do all that gooey crap, it was just real. How we are, and how our life together is. Crazy and unpredictable. Being able to enjoy a small cherry slurpee after working in the hot sun. It was simple, and happy.

Now... I need to go start planning next years BIG anniversary. ;)

Midas meets Gunner

Midas loves Gunner. At night after Gunner heads to bed with Ariell Midas has to walk around three or four times before he will settle in. He really loves having friend around.

But he also really loves his toys. He normally shared pretty well. But he was laying on three or four and wouldn't let Gunner at any of them.

We tried for so long to get a picture of Gunner smiling. And TA-DA!!!! Smiling Gunner!!

Man Time

Recently Jon decided he needed a Mohawk.... So after ignoring it for a couple months I finally gave in when he came in and said "Mohawk, tonight!". We toned it down for work, kept the sides a little longer, took the back off so it was work appropriate. But make no mistake it is shaved into a Mohawk.
When our nephew Kaden came to visit Jon and Kade decided they would shave Kade's into a Mohawk too! Kaden wanted "a half mohawk and half not Mohawk" just like uncle Jonathan. So the boys went to work...

Getting started, yes Jon did man handle the poor boy bit. He was constantly holding Kade's head where he wanted it. So most pictures we got have Jon's hand in the way.

I made him undo his Kung Fu grip for this picture. You can tell he is ready to snap back at any second!

Cheeser!!! Then, wait for it... Finished product with the two of them and their awesome Mohawks.
