A Comment because I couldn't Comment...

I ususally try to comment when I read a Blog Post from one of my family or friends. But alas, Sometimes my blogger account hates me.. It's true, I don't understand it either.

So I'm using my blog, to send a shout out and comment to my fave peeps (who also happen to be my cousins) Marc and Toni. (As a preface to all of you reading, Toni and Marc are expecting thier fist baby in April. And of course this is the blog post I wasn't able to comment on.)

Changes

This is more of a personal post. Written a while back, I think I'm finally ready to post it.

I think about this all the time, I work through it in my head. But somehow I never quite find the right solution. Let me start from the beginning...
About three years ago I met the most amazing man. I wasn't looking for it, I didn't even want it at the time. But he was there and it was one of those movie stories, it was a whirlwind. When you get caught up in a Love you never knew existed. There was a plan for me that I was definitely not in on. But it was there and when my heart told me to jump I did. Which was completely out of character for me. Yes, I was always someone to do fun random things out of no where. But when it came to my heart, I have always been very guarded. Even thinking back now that five weeks seems so crazy. But now I can say I understand the six weeks I always thought my parents were crazy for. There was a lot of praying.. or even arguing through my prayers. Yes I even argue with the Big Man from time to time.
After we announced our engagement so many friends and family were so happy and excited. I think a lot of the excitement came from the surprise of the whole thing. Well most were happy and excited. There were a few who had their own thoughts and I was okay with that. I expected it even. Just not from one person. One person cut me off. And said some horrible things about the whole engagement. Now I'm not going to go into the details of what was said, or who it was even. But this person was closer to me than most people have ever been.
That's what this whole post is about. Its almost three years later and at times, I'm still hung up on the whole thing. When it was found out I had heard what the person thought of my engagement, they told me it was all lies. In my heart I knew what was said, was actually said. But I tried to see past it. I could understand why they would say it hadn't been said. Maybe they truly didn't want to ruin what we had. But then why not just be happy for me? I understand it was a short amount of time. But that was my decision to make. I have never really understood the whole logistics of it all. I have only understand how unhappy it makes me that things have turned out this way. Just when I think I'm done thinking about it, we are around each other again. Nothing is even said between us anymore. And I am left thinking about it for days. I wonder if this person knows how much they have hurt me? I wish I still saw the person I used to in them. And I wish my husband could know the person I used to know instead of this one.
The whole thing still confuses me three years later. I wish from the bottom of my heart things were different. But would I go back and change things? Would I change choosing to listen not only to my heart but the promptings of the spirit to save this? No, But I wish things could have been different. I wish others feelings about my choices could have been different. I wish other hearts could have been softened.
Maybe someday they will. I guess that's all I can hope for.

Shenanigans shout out!

Since all the students are back in town that means my cousins are back in town. I'm lucky enough to live in a town with a university so all the fam from other towns and states come here! A new addition to the USU family this year is the one... The only... ALYSSA EDWARDS! Alyssa and I are about 6 or so years apart but we just get each other. Basically she makes me laugh all the time! I can't get enough of her tactics. Jon and I have been up a few times already to see her. The other night we decided to take her and her adorable roommate, Grace out for a treat. She needed to experience the goodness that is Zeppes. If you haven't been there, I strongly urge that you quickly get to your nearest one and enjoy. You can choose from one of four things, all of which are amazing! First the Italian Water Ice.. Second the Custard... Third a Gelata, not to be confused with a Gelato. it is a layered Water Ice and Custard dream... And Fourth a Gelata Shake. Which is what is sounds like, the two blended, instead of layered. I'm thinking we have made regulars of the two of them. Mission accomplished.

How lucky am I?

Today, the first sweet text I got from my dear husband, was attached to a picture message! I hurriedly opened it to read

"Do you see a problem with this?"
With this picture attached

If you can't tell from the fuzzy picture, it's an empty TP roll. Seems somebody found themselves in a pickle this morning. Maybe I should have replaced it this morning when I noticed it before I left for work. Naw, this was way more amusing!!
Good morning Lover!!

Date night!

Jon has been telling me for a few days now that he wants to create his own season salt or rub. So last night I set out a bunch of our spices and small dishes, sat across the bar and told him to go at. I wrote down everything he added into four different dishes. Then he took his favorite two and we made them on a bigger scale. I have to say they are really good!!
He even did a lot of his own grinding with a rolling pin. So now two greats have been born.
Jon's Mix, or as he likes to call it "Earthy Pleasure". And my favorite "Sweet Slap". Yeah that's really what he named it, if you ever try it you would know why.
This was such a fun and cheap date night!!

Sweet sweet man!

On Tuesday Jon and I were cleaning up the house together. He slipped outside to take care of a few things while I was in the bedroom folding laundry. The doorbell rang so I got up and went to answer the door. And there was Jon, standing there holding a vase full of sunflowers that have been growing wild in our yard. It's the sweet things he does that sets him apart. Love him.

Done Well.... And Done Terribly Wrong

**The opinions in the following post are solely personal and Do Not reflect Blogger in anyway. If you are a "victim" of any of the following, please take no offense. But instead, quickly change. :)**

You know when you have a recipe you LOVE!! And you accidentally forget to put one little thing in? Then your amazingness (yes amazingness) is terribly all wrong. So much so that it disappoints you. And it was only that small little change that ruined your dish! I have a few general things, that make me think of this when they are done wrong. And when I see someone with one of these things I just can't stop staring. Hey I'm only human! When I see something that has been tweaked just enough that its all wrong... I'll admit it, my eyes wander like a pubescent boy and I Can't. Stop. Starring.
It might make me a terrible person, but these are a few of them...
Colorful Eyeshadow..
Now I'll be the first to open up my make up bag and show EVERYONE that I have just about every color known to man. But that doesn't mean I used a paint roller to put it on people. There IS a difference between clown make-up and classically done.
BAD CLOWN PEOPLE

AWWwwww... Better.

Side Ponytails.. One "slip-to-far-up-the-head" and you have ruined it. What were you thinking?
Eighties UN-happiness

Elegant, Classic... Perfect.

Another hair Uh-Oh... Hair ratting or teasing. You have just a nice small tease. Then some people just don't get that less is more and we end up with a nest for a small family of Blue Jays perched on the head. Why? Sometimes the front is only combed down so the back is left in crazy land. Because If you can only see the front that mean everyone can. Right? WRONG. My personal favorite, which happens around here all the time!! The box. That is the only way to put it. There is literally a square on the back of a girls head.
Move in the birds..

Isn't she cute?..

Last and best of all in my opinion..... Drum roll!! Fake tanning! We all do it, or have done it. Don't deny it. But there is a fine line from nice glow to "Orange Carrot Sunshine" walking down the street. And don't try and tell me you don't Fake Bake, or use a lotion. We can all tell. Just own up to it and in most cases everyone will say "Oh I like this brand!" or "I like to go here, where do you go?"
Any body would stare at these!

I don't think I need to put a good shot. We all know what a nice tan looks like. That's just a few things that can be tweaked a tiny bit, and have massive TERRIBLE outcomes!
