Snacky-snack

Jon and I have really loved eggs and toast lately. We have it for breakfast, brunch, lunch, linner, and dinner! Okay maybe not that often. But we have been a bit addicted lately. It makes me laugh when we both want them our own way. We get out our own pans, stand together at the stove and chat while we both cook. I'll bet you can't tell which is mine and which is his.

It has actually become a great bonding time. We talk about everything over eggs. Isn't it funny how even if you alone with someone doing some together can get all sorts of conversations going. I love him. A wee bit.

Mother's Day

I have been thinking how to write about mother's day this year. While I love my mother and think she us above any other that could possibly be found out there, I found myself sneaking away to take moments. I know how selfish that sounds. But if I'm going to be honest to myself and to what a write here, I need to share how there were hard moments. Small things that were said; that met nothing to people around and normally would mean nothing to me. No worries, I wasn't some dork sulking in a corner. There were only a few times I slipped away and I'm sure no one even noticed. Which in my opinion is a good thing. I just needed a few times to gather myself. And remember how lucky I am to have the mother I have. After I lost the baby my mom said "I can't understand how this feels for you, but I know when one finally makes it to you; this experience will make it that much sweeter.". I know she's right. I love mine and am so grateful for her. And for those of you wondering, no we are not planning on one any time soon. We want to focus on the new house and getting things together. Just take time would be the best way to put it, I think.
Jon was so sweet. He had a gift waiting for me Mother's Day morning. It was a willow tree figurine with a woman holding a baby. You may think this would be a sad reminder, but then he said he thought the title was perfect. And it was. "Angel of Mine". Just perfect.

Under the title it reads "So loved, so very loved."

I have a sister that is a doll, she is always sending me little notes or quotes when she finds ones she thinks I might like. She sent me this poem for Mother's day. It really touched me, so I'm going to leave you all with it. Thanks Ariell. Love you.

Am I Not A Mother?
by Gail Fasolo

Am I not a mother
On this Mother's Day?
I had a baby, but she's gone.
Death took her away.

Hopes and dreams have vanished
a happy time turned cold.
My motherhood-where is it now?
Gone? Or put on hold?

Am I not a mother
even though my child died?
Does anyone know my heartbreak
or the anguish felt inside?

Special gifts and flowers
but who'll remember me?
As I stand and shed some tears
at your graveside where I'll be.

Mother's Day-so painful
but I will make it through.
Yes, I am a mother!
but God takes care of you.

Poor People Food #2

Jon read my last post and said I made him sound like a "rear" (we'll just leave it at that) I told him I didn't make him sound like anything... That's just how he sounded :/. So for the sake of him... He only thinks bags a potatoes are "poor people food". Now with that said, lets hope I'm not back again tomorrow to revise him again. I love him.

Poor people food

Before the house Jon and I were in grocery heaven! We wanted ice cream, we got ice cream. We wanted cookies, why not! Cookies it is!! Heck grab two! Steaks tonight? No, how about crab legs! Alas, after we have settled into our mortgage payment, and a tighter budget. We have been seeing lots of this...

Or what Jon calls "poor people food". Potatoes, eggs, ground beef, and a few other things. One thing that can not be given up however, is the sharp cheddar Tillamook cheese. It's Tillamook people! Not that we didn't have these things before. We just see more of them these days. Do you know how many things you can do with potatoes! Anyway, have any budget friendly dinners? Please share. Jon isn't loving the repeats.

School nights

You know in the first little bit of a movie. How the main character is shown at home alone, making dinner. They seem so peaceful and content, but also a little.... Sad. It makes you want them to find something, someone to make them happy so they won't have to eat dinner at home alone.
On Jon's school nights I'm that character. I quietly pull everything out I need, then make something simple. Tonight it was tomato soup and grilled cheese. I don't talk at all, aside from telling Midas to get out every now and then. As I use things I carefully put them back in place. Then set 1 place mat out and sit down to dinner. Point of this whole thing is... I'm that main character, and my happy ending will come when Jon is done with school. Now I'll go make his dinner, he should be home soon.

Heart Of Gold... Or I Just Love Him

Jon and I brought a new addition to our family home about a week ago. His name is Midas, and we simply love him. He is 11 months old and already so incredibly mellow it's insane. I love when he gets so excited he can hardly obey. It's annoying, but I love seeing him that happy!!

I came home one night to this in my garage... Yes Midas is sleeping on a love sac... Seriously!! Jon thought he needed a really nice bed for when he is in the garage.

He is our dog, but if you ask him, he loves Jon.. He would much rather be with Jon. Until he's in trouble. Then I'm his best friend :). He will hide behind me, and put me between him and Jon. Makes me smile.

I love all the weird positions he sleeps in. Those legs are so long he always has them in funny places.

I Need Energy..

Well, 8 1/2 months after we started we finally moved into our house. I say "house" and not "home" because now I'm just out of energy. I have been digging everywhere in me to find some energy (and money) to decorate and make it a little more like home. But right now the walls are bare, and the furniture just doesn't feel right. I haven't hung anything because I would like to paint before attacking my walls with a hammer and nails. Alas.. I need to buy the paint first. And the furniture really is fine, it's just still a little echo-y with how bare it is right now. Don't get me wrong.. I. LOVE. MY. HOUSE. I just can't wait till I can make it a Home. I will post pictures as soon as I have a free minute to get some on here.
